If the Device User's phone doesn't have an internet connection when their device tells it to start an alert, the phone will keep looking for a connection while it records audio. When it reconnects, all recorded audio and the latest location are sent to the Wearsafe Safety System. This can happen when the phone connects to known WiFi, gets back into cellular data coverage, or leaves Airplane Mode.
To make sure you know when your Red Alert or Check-in has gone to your Contacts, your device will vibe only after your App has connected to the Wearsafe system to notify them.
If your device is unable to signal the Wearsafe App, it will continue looking for your phone, and as soon as they reconnect, the alert will begin. Audio recording will start, and your Contacts will be notified.
Some interruptions that delay or stop your device communicating with the Wearsafe App:
- Bluetooth is off
- Airplane Mode is on
- The device is turned off (smartwatches) or its battery drained (SOS Button)
- Wearsafe App was force-closed (iOS only)
- Your phone is turned off
- Your device and phone get separated too far or by too many obstructions
If you have checked that all of these conditions didn't apply to your alert, please contact our support agents by emailing support@wearsafe.com or using the submission form linked on this page.
