Why does the Wearsafe App need to be running in the background?

The Wearsafe Platform is designed for 24/7/365 availability, because when you need help fast, you can't be fumbling with your phone. We need to always be ready to respond and send out alerts when you press the button on your Tag.

By keeping the Wearsafe app running in the background, you can be sure that we can send alerts when it really matters. If you had to manually start and stop the application, then you would always have to remember to restart the app when you might need help.

The Wearsafe App has been designed to use as little of your battery as possible with Bluetooth low energy technology and other optimizations, but does need to be running to work.
